Early in the day on November 30th, a pickup truck transporting a beautiful horse happened to stop in front of where I live. I went out to the street, took a couple of photos and didn’t think much about it except, “Wow, beautiful horse.” The music that I could hear coming from off in the distance throughout the afternoon didn’t phase me; it was a Saturday, after all, and that could be normal. Even when one of my neighbors came home and said there were people all over town, it didn’t register with me.
It wasn’t until I pedaled my way into town around sunset to pick up a few groceries and saw horses all in the street that I finally remembered: it was Rodeo day in Jacó! I had looked forward to it all month but it had completely escaped me. I pedaled my way home quickly, cheesed with myself that I was only going to be getting night shots but what the hell.
A pretty nifty affair. Fun. Beautiful. Wonderful. I have video but honestly, I’m likely not going to get around to putting it together anytime soon. It’ll eventually make its way onto my YouTube channel, though. One day. All of the photos can be found in the Jacó gallery. Here are the highlights.
