Jacó isn’t a large town. There’s one main road, Avenida Pastor Diaz, where the bulk of commerce happens. So when a business changes hands, it’s hard not to notice.
That said, Los Reyes del Dulce (or The Sweet Kings, if my translation is correct) quietly eeked its way into existence one day not too long ago. A candy store filled with delicious candies completely foreign to me. In addition to the mountains of candy and chocolate, they also have party supplies. Mostly for small childrens’ parties but if you’re looking for balloons (as I have been), you´ll find them there. And confetti. No glitter, though (I’ve been looking for that, as well).
Even though the store is small, it’s pretty fun to wander around. I’ve made a point to stop in from time to time to buy some new sweet I’ve never had before. For research, you know. Not because I’m six.
In case you go looking for it, Los Reyes del Dulce is just South of the bus stop across from Max por Menos.
